What should I wear to my boudoir shoot?

You aren’t alone if you booked your boudoir shoot, and now you’re thinking, “what should I wear?!” Lingerie is popular for boudoir shoots, but if that isn’t your thing — fear not! I’ve compiled a list of ideas, plus some do’s and don’ts to keep in mind when selecting outfits.

Let’s start with some of my favorites that you probably already have in your closet:

  • White tank with a cute pair of undies. Even better, a cropped white tank! I usually just grab a plain ol’ ribbed white tank and cut it off for the cropped look. Hot tip: this outfit works great for a wet tank set.

  • Button up white shirt. Nothing underneath.

  • A loose fitting sweater that can hang off a shoulder.

  • Nothing but a sheet (you don’t need to bring this. I have sheets!).

  • A pair of jeans or cutoff shorts with nothing on top.

Now let’s chat lingerie! Selecting lingerie can be overwhelming, but sooo fun! If you book your boudoir shoot with me at Babe City, I have a full client closet full of lingerie you can borrow size small through 4x. If you want to purchase your own, here are some tips.

  1. Bodysuits are my FAV. They’re comfortable and usually accentuate the curves juuust right.

  2. Use babydolls sparingly, if at all. It’s common for folks who are self conscious of their bodies to buy babydoll lingerie for their shoot because it has more coverage. The problem is, it hides the parts of you we’re trying to show off!!

  3. Include a two piece set. High waisted, high cut are my fav for bottoms. SO FIRE.

  4. Shoes and accessories are fun but totally optional. Some folks bring a few pairs of shoes, some don’t care for them! It’s totally up to you.

If you live in Bend or are traveling here to central Oregon for your shoot, we’re lucky to have a few different shops for lingerie! Pretty Moments Lingerie, Tres Chic, Pretty Pussycat, and Victoria’s Secret are all right here at your disposal.

Don’t forget, my client closet is included in your shoot!! And guess what? LOTS of folks show up completely empty handed and trust in the client closet. It’s such a fun way to try new pieces without having to purchase it.
