"What should I wear to my boudoir shoot?"
Are you getting ready for your boudoir shoot and wondering what kind of lingerie to wear? Don't worry, I’ve got you covered! I know it’s easier said than done, but try not to overthink it. In my opinion the shoot itself is more about YOU than what you’re wearing. Although of course we what you to feel great (and comfortable).
First things first, consider your personal style. Think about what makes you feel confident and sexy, and choose lingerie that reflects that. If you have no idea, that’s totally fine. Let this be a chance to explore what that might be. My client closet is a great option for folks who aren’t sure what they like, or who aren’t familiar with lingerie. Reminder I offer size small through 4x and it’s available for you to borrow day of your shoot! I have tons of bodysuits, robes, two piece sets, and also a few harnesses.
When it comes to color, I do have a couple of suggestions. Bright neon colors can sometimes be a little distracting. My favorite colors for lingerie are anything jewel tone, and obviously black/white. Emerald green is one of my favorite colors for lingerie and looks SO good on every skin tone.
What about shoes? Some folks bring shoes, some don’t. It’s totally up to you! At this time I only have two pairs of simple black heels in my client closet — size 8 and 9.
Do I have to wear lingerie? Absolutely not! One of my FAVORITE outfits is a cut off white tank top plus a cute pair of undies. I’ve photographed denim jackets, white button up shirts, robes, sweaters, jerseys, you name it.
Remember, the most important thing is to choose lingerie that makes you feel confident and comfortable. Have fun with it and let your personality shine through in your boudoir shoot!
Now for the recommendations!!
Some of my favorite brands:
Mid range to luxury: Thistle and Spire, Savage X Fenty, Cantiq LA, Bluebella, and Empress Mimi.
Budget friendly: Yandy, Playful Promises, and although I don’t love to support them — Amazon. It can definitely be hit or miss, but here are some of my favs!
